I'm curious about something.
I'm curious to know what makes you curious? Does a question just pop into your mind and you don't know the answer? Have you been thinking about something and think there's more to it than you've thought? Have you thought that you understood something but then the world, either in the small or at large, behaves differently from the way you expected? Did the world behave in a way you expected, but you wonder what makes it behave that way?
Did you see something that looked peculiar to you, and you wanted to get a closer look? Did someone say something novel to you, and you want to learn more about it? Did someone say something you don't believe, and you want to check it out? Did you observe an argument, and you want to know which side you favor?
Did you see somebody do something, or see the results somebody created, and wonder how they did it, or if you could do it? Or did you maybe wonder why somebody would do something like that?
And when you notice your curiosity, how often do you follow it to see where it leads? How much work are you willing to do to satiate your curiosity? How often do you idly let the thought slip away?
I know that there's no one universal answer to these questions, even for any single individual. Do these questions resonate with any thoughts or feelings that you've had? Are there any questions about curiosity that I haven't mentioned that you find worth mentioning?
P.S. Please let me know, as much or as little as you want, your answers to these questions. I'm curious, and I want to understand how other people view curiosity.
And if you'd like to talk further about this topic, you could schedule a Zoom Session with me to talk about it.
